Leading an organisation under pressure is hard in ways that are not always nameable. The difficulties that arise, in leadership, in teams, in the functioning of the institution as a whole, are rarely what they first appear to be, and rarely resolved by the solutions that are easiest to reach for. They tend to be rooted in the history and dynamics of the organisation, in its psychological life, and in what it has not yet found a way to think about.

An organisation’s structure and functioning are mutually reinforcing — and can drift, over time, away from the primary tasks the organisation exists to serve, in ways that can be difficult to see. This work considers how an organisation actually functions across all of these levels — and where necessary, thinks carefully about redesign and development in the service of its purpose.
Leadership Consulting
Leading a complex organisation places demands that cannot always be named, let alone shared. This work offers leaders a rigorous, confidential space to think — about the pressures they are carrying, the dynamics shaping their institution, and what those dynamics may reflect about the organisation and about themselves.
Team and Group Dynamics
Groups develop ways of organising themselves that have little to do with their formal structure, and that are often more powerful than any management intervention. The pressure and difficulty of demanding work finds its way into teams - into conflict, into exhaustion, into dynamics that recur however many times they are addressed. This work attends to what is really happening and why.
Organisational Consulting
Organisations develop ways of not thinking about things. The pressures and anxieties that move through a system — across levels, between groups, through the structures of authority and culture — shape how an institution functions in ways that are not always visible. This work attends to the organisation as a whole, and to what is happening beneath the surface of its everyday life.
